A Day of Words Wit and Wisdom

This month's devotion is a mixture of outstanding truths that I have read either from my daily "secular" devotional, my Bible devotional and the Bible itself just since January 1, 2024. I have been impressed to share this with you. I hope it touches you as much as it has me so far.

  • New Year's Day is a fresh start, a blank page, a new chapter in life waiting to be written.

  • Secret agents of self-sabotage are regret and remorse, They are up to no good. They feed off our sad and dark emotions.

  • Discombobulated days and long nights come to all of us.

  • Gratitude is when we do a mental and spiritual inventory of all that we have and realize we are very rich.

  • Be still and wait expectantly.

  • Turn away from the world.

  • We have everything we need to make us happy but lack the conscious awareness to appreciate it.

  • How many of us go through our days parched and empty when we're standing knee deep in the river of abundance?

  • Stop thinking that things out of your control will make you happy.

  • If the only prayer you say is "'thank you", it will be enough.

  • Real life is not always going to be perfect but acknowledgment of what is working in our lives can help us survive our difficulties.

  • No woman, especially, can think clearly when constantly surrounded by clutter, chaos and confusion no matter who is responsible for it.

  • We struggle from day to day from crisis to crisis bruised and battered by circumstances without realizing that we always have a choice.

  • Without thinking, we throw away every precious 24 hours that come our way.

  • Keep going and don't stop. You are not alone.

  • There is no obstacle that true grit and amazing grace cannot overcome.

  • This is my tiny kitchen with a dirty floor. This is how much I weigh. This is my checking account balance. This is happening right now in my life. This is ok. This is real life.

  • Act as if you're grateful to be alive.

  • Making the best of ourselves requires passion, patience, persistence and perseverance and LOTS OF PRAYER!

  • Why are social media posts called feeds when what they often do is starve our souls?

  • No matter how hard the storm hits, God is in control.

  • Nothing that you do for God's glory will ever go unnoticed.

  • Be careful not to get entangled in things which you would not want to be held responsible for.

  • There is no fear that can overtake you unless you allow it to.

  • Don't let anyone or anything steal your heart away from God.

  • Remember ALL God's children have imperfections...including YOU.

  • We waste too much time looking for what we can get instead of what we can give.
