A Day of Words Wit and Wisdom
This month's devotion is a mixture of outstanding truths that I have read either from my daily "secular" devotional, my Bible devotional and the Bible itself just since January 1, 2024. I have been impressed to share this with you. I hope it touches you as much as it has me so far.
New Year's Day is a fresh start, a blank page, a new chapter in life waiting to be written.
Secret agents of self-sabotage are regret and remorse, They are up to no good. They feed off our sad and dark emotions.
Discombobulated days and long nights come to all of us.
Gratitude is when we do a mental and spiritual inventory of all that we have and realize we are very rich.
Be still and wait expectantly.
Turn away from the world.
We have everything we need to make us happy but lack the conscious awareness to appreciate it.
How many of us go through our days parched and empty when we're standing knee deep in the river of abundance?
Stop thinking that things out of your control will make you happy.
If the only prayer you say is "'thank you", it will be enough.
Real life is not always going to be perfect but acknowledgment of what is working in our lives can help us survive our difficulties.
No woman, especially, can think clearly when constantly surrounded by clutter, chaos and confusion no matter who is responsible for it.
We struggle from day to day from crisis to crisis bruised and battered by circumstances without realizing that we always have a choice.
Without thinking, we throw away every precious 24 hours that come our way.
Keep going and don't stop. You are not alone.
There is no obstacle that true grit and amazing grace cannot overcome.
This is my tiny kitchen with a dirty floor. This is how much I weigh. This is my checking account balance. This is happening right now in my life. This is ok. This is real life.
Act as if you're grateful to be alive.
Making the best of ourselves requires passion, patience, persistence and perseverance and LOTS OF PRAYER!
Why are social media posts called feeds when what they often do is starve our souls?
No matter how hard the storm hits, God is in control.
Nothing that you do for God's glory will ever go unnoticed.
Be careful not to get entangled in things which you would not want to be held responsible for.
There is no fear that can overtake you unless you allow it to.
Don't let anyone or anything steal your heart away from God.
Remember ALL God's children have imperfections...including YOU.
We waste too much time looking for what we can get instead of what we can give.
