Christian Life Is A Battleground
'For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.' ~ Ephesians 6:12
We experience struggles, tension, uncomfortableness in this world, even more so today. There is a battle going on and we feel it on a regular basis. What are you wrestling with? Work causing you issues? What about your family? Got troubles in the church you attend? What is causing this? There are so many disappointments and heartaches, broken and hurting people that are being crushed. Sin is on the rampage. I never thought I would see the day that I am living in now. It's repulsive to think that we no longer have any values as a whole. Life is a struggle and it looks hopeless at times.
Paul clearly reminds us that we do not wrestle against flesh and blood but we are up against spiritual force(s). This evil is working throughout the world. It is working against everything that is good. It is working against the church itself in more ways than I could ever imagine. These forces cause division, oppression, temptation. This present darkness, however, is not permanent. It will come to a end eventually but will YOU be a casualty of battle?
If we could only see the spiritual through our physical eyes, I honestly believe we would be so terrified that it would do us completely in. Your soul is precious and there is a battle going on for it. BUT let's look at it on the flip side. The enemy knows once he captures the believer (does not take much), he has won the battle. Satan is relentless and he is ruthless. The sad part about it is that we let him.
I have always heard if the devil is not bothering you, he already has you or if you give the devil an inch, he'll take a mile. This is not scripture of course, but it is good common sense. Does your life, what you spend your time doing or not doing, your thoughts and actions, priorities make it easy for these evil forces to advance? Does your life reflect you are in a spiritual battle or are you AWOL? Are you putting on your armor daily or have you started removing piece by piece?
We need to take a stand and hold the line. Defend what's good and pure. Don't let the principalities of this world, powers, rulers of the darkness rob you of your soul. Live a life worthy of the sacrifice that was paid for it.
As a good friend once said..."I want to be so full of God that there is a
wanted sign in hell with my picture on it".
