Resuscitate Your Spiritual Life
We previously talked about “decluttering our minds” of such things as pride, resentment, past mistakes, family issues and all the things that go on in the workplace. How is that going for you? I did not say it was going to be a fast and easy process but I can say that it may be slow and hard. The main thing to remember is to keep moving forward and not backward in the decluttering of the spiritual self. We all need to live a life of freedom in the Lord. How many times do we come to church and everything but the Lord is on our minds? Once in a while or almost all the time? Satan has us bound with so much junk that it is chocking the life out of us to where we are spiritually DEAD. How do you think the “Giver of Life” feels when His children have to be RESUSCITATED? I looked up this word resuscitate in the Webster dictionary and it states: To stir up, to restore consciousness, vigor for life, to revive. Wow! I don't know about you, but I feel like we all could use some life.
In Psalms 122, David said he was glad when they said to him “Let us go to the house of the Lord”. Being glad in church...what a great idea. In my many years of being a supervisor, people would come to work in a lot of moods. Needless to say, it ruined the whole day for the few who came to work in a good mood. I finally had to tell the “woe is me” crowd to leave it outside. If they wanted to pick up their baggage after they punched out for the day, that was up to them but not on company time. So maybe we need to find a dumpster and throw out all the junk that is hindering us from worshipping. If we take the time to come into His presence, He will renew our minds and then we will not want to hang on to stuff that takes up space. We will want to replace that negative junk with the fruits of the spirit which are love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Can you imagine what would happen in our churches if everyone came in with their minds filled with all the attributes of the fruit of the spirit? There would be the greatest revival that this world has ever seen!
We need to ask ourselves this question. How bad do we want this? Are we willing to surrender all to Him, no matter what the cost? Are we willing to let the Lord make some changes in us? If you said Yes Lord....then get ready for an awesome experience in the Lord. If you just cannot let go at this time, I plead with you to ask God to help you LET IT GO.
