STARTING OVER IN THE NEW YEAR
The New Year is another opportunity for you to START OVER. We have been given 365 days (if it be God's will) to make this year our best. For some, nothing will change. They will go through life doing the same old things, never venturing out of their comfort zone. There will be some who will create a bucket list of things that they want to accomplish in the New Year. While this may deal with life in general, the same thing applies to our spiritual life as well. I hope that we as Christians, do not go through our lives doing the same old things, never reaching out or growing spiritually. Take this precious time, however long we may have, and be productive. You were created for a purpose and that purpose is most often carried out through being productive. People who no longer produce lose their purpose and are dead and appear to be useless. We should want to produce a life and a legacy that matters. There are so many opportunities waiting for you, especially in the church. Doesn't scripture say whatever your hands find to do, do with all your might? There are things to do right now, but evidently, we are not willing to get our hands involved. Over the past several years, COVID has played havoc with the church. We no longer seem to enjoy our time together; we have eliminated so many activities and programs and we have got quite comfortable with doing less. This almost sounds like we are going against scripture.
Sometimes, we just need to be a rebel. We need to be a people who will not back down from a challenge. Jesus did not mind getting his hands dirty. Jesus did not mind eating and talking to the sinners. Jesus did not mind going to the temple and praying. Jesus did not mind healing and feeding people. Jesus did not mind dying for you . . . . . .wow, maybe it is time we did something for Him.
He needs people who are faithful (remaining loyal and steadfast).
He needs people who will show up.
He needs people who will pray.
He needs people who will give of their time, talents and abilities (cheerful givers).
He needs people who will worship.
He needs people who love and show compassion to others.
He needs leaders.
He needs witnesses for the Gospel.
HE NEEDS YOU!
So, what are you going to do with the time you have left?
